Baby Sophisticate Sweater

Baby Sophisticate Sweater

I really enjoyed knitting this sweater for Sprout a few months ago. I finished it in a week, which is fast for me even for a small item like a baby knit. It was my first time using Mission Falls 1824 Wool and I loved it. It reminded me a bit of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino, but sturdier. If you are looking for a quick, gender-neutral baby sweater pattern, I highly recommend this one!

Yarn: Mission Falls 1824 Wool, 3 skeins, #003 Oyster
Pattern: Baby Sophisticate (newborn size)
Needles: US # 9 / 26″ (Magic Loop for sleeves)

Great sweater? How did you like using magic loop on the arms? I used it on the arms for a sweater for myself and didn’t like it as well. The yarn was fingerweight / lace and the needles were size 6, so it was creating a looser weave. I ended up with too tight or too loose stitches. I wonder if it’s better with a better match between yarn and needles. Hope you’re doing well!

Great color choice. I have used Mission Falls 1824 for baby hats before. Very soft and comes in nice colors. The buttons go perfectly!

Ok – I should clarify. YOU inspired me to knit. Not that my cousin has inspired me to have a baby.
